Message Disclaimer: I am not Ash, I only know about this stuff because I fly things that use afterburners and nozzles. I couldn't build something like this to save my life.

It appears that in full AB, your nozzle is too restrictive. I say this because of the ammount of flame coming out the end (not much) and the fact that the aft end of the nozzle heats up enough to glow (i.e. huge airflow restriction).

On the F-15, as you increase power, the variable nozzle gets smaller and smaller, _until_ you go into AB, then it opens up to something like 10x it's smallest diameter.

If you want more info, I'd be glad to dig out my -1 to get exact numbers and/or exchange e-mail with you.

Ash, you rock. Please don't kill yourself. I, for one, look forward to the bi-monthly "What awesome new stuff has Ash cooked up for us today" posts.

Jason
